A2

What is the difference between the GM and the GMPT?

Both utilize the same basic pump and motor, however the GMPT has a built-in accumulator tank which allows small quantities of water (up to 8 oz.) to be drawn from the system without the pump starting. It smoothes out the flow of water and increases the life of the pump and motor.

The GM is a demand-type pump that doesn't have an accumulator tank - when the tap is opened the pump comes on; when the tap is closed the pump stops. GM series super Galley Mate pumps may have an in-line accumulator tank added (Raritan #PT or equivalent).

A3

Can I adjust the pressure setting higher?

Super Galley Mate water pressure systems are factory adjusted to come on at 11 PSI and shut off at 22 PSI. Increasing the pressure setting will not increase the water flow.

A5

What size boat can the Galley Mate accommodate?

In general a single pump is adequate for for boats with one shower, galley and related accessories such as hot water heater. Boats larger than 40' with larger water demands may use two Galley Mates by splitting the ships plumbing between the two which operate independently form the other.
